Homemade Little Shop of Horrors Couples Costume
The inspiration for this Audrey II (myself) and Seymour (my husband Dustin) rendition of Little Shop of Horrors was due to a 1980’s themed Halloween party we were attending October 29th, 2016. Seymour was relatively easy to produce as my husband already owned the appropriate attire. My Audrey II costume was created using fake leaves from three different looking plants and hand sewing them onto a plain structured slip undergarment.
For the headress I hot glued additional leaves to a plain thick headband. My ‘babies’ as I call them, sitting on top of my shoulders were made from plastic Christmas ornaments that I cut open. The inside of their mouths were stuffed with bright colored moss and the teeth were made by cutting glitter felt into little triangles and then hot gluing to the opening of their mouths. More leaves were hot glued to the backside of their heads and secured with floral wire to a single sturdy frond. This Audrey II costume took me a week to prepare. Putting several hours of work in each day, which is more effort than I’ve ever put in before for a costume, but I definitely enjoyed doing it and everyone loved it!
