DIY Lobster Boil Costume for Kids (And Parents!)
We have been making costumes for about 15 years now for a local competition at our favorite campgrounds. This year we went with a Lobster! This is a homemade costume; we started with a wagon, and made a stove; we used real stove eyelets, and then added candles underneath for the fire. We painted a plastic container to make it look like a chrome boiling pot, we used a wizard stick to create smoke like our pot was cooking, and then bought a premade lobster costume for Logan to wear. We added real corn, onions, potatoes and butter, to create the lobster boil. My husband dressed up like a chef, acting like he was cooking lobster for the Deercreek lobster boil. We walk around the campgrounds to trick or treat, and hit up as many as 200 campers giving out candy. Logan is 6, and she loves to dress up, and loves the attention. We got a ton of comments, on how great the costume was, and everyone wants to take a picture of her.
