DIY LEGO Family Costumes
For these costumes, I decided on trying to make lego costumes for my Grandchildren and myself. These are all Homemade costumes using boxes, plastic cups, paint, and hot glue.
These homemade LEGO costumes are actually very easy to make and you can whip one of these up in no time at all. You will need a box large enough to go over your body. Then you need to cut out holes for your head and arms to go through. Hot glue the plastic cups where you want them to be on the front of your large box. Paint your box the color you choose. For the head piece I used smaller boxes such a ritz cracker box, cereal boxes worked also worked well. Cut out a hole in onside of your cereal box for the size of your head. I hot glued some plastic cups on top of the box and I also bought some elastic that I could use to secure the homemade lego head piece on top of our heads. These lego head pieces were also painted as well. My Grandchildren helped make their costumes and had fun painting them. They used paint brushes to paint. I did find that buying a can of spray paint was much less time consuming and also covered the box much better than the tempera paint I had bought for the kids to use. Once their paint had dried, we ended up going over it again with a can of spray paint. But, They still had fun painting regardless. I purchased some face masks from our local craft store that my Grandchildren could decorate themselves. The masks came in a package with different stickers they could put on it however they wanted. They had fun making their own masks as part of their costumes. I also made some more lego costumes for two other children who are close to our family and we got a big group picture of them all in front of our house. These costumes looked so cute on all of the children. The pictures I had with the bigger group exceeded the file limit to submit so I was unable to submit them with this entry.
