This little Corpse Bride really does look like something out of a real life version of the famous Tim Burton film! She even has the bones printed on her that add to the realism of her costume and to the theme of Halloween. She looks very cute and all set for Halloween themed wedding!
A message from Kira, the creator of the ‘DIY Kids Corpse Bride’ costume:
My daughter is big into tim burton movies, and decided she wanted to be the corpse bride. I bought 2 dresses close in color. The one she’s wearing would have fit a teenager, so I had to cut it up and make it fot a 2 year old. I took the mesh from the other dress to make the veil. Both the dress and veil I had cut the mesh in a wavy like way. Then took a fabric marker to add detail. I glued a line of light blue sequins all around the veil outlining my wavy design.
I glued several flowers together to make the flowery head piece. I used fabric paint to paint the ribs on the side. Attached the veil in the back. I made the bouquet with more silk flowers, and glued tiny skulls in the middle of each flower. I wrapped the stems in electrical tape, and then in several shades of blue ribbon.
For her makeup I used eyeshadow for her face.liquid eyeliner for the eye detail. And liquid liner for the bones drawn on one arm, white paint for the bone color.
